A Note from VPP
Watching "Éire" (dir. Simon O'Neill, poem by Audrey Huigens) and "Naming the Roses" (dir. Michelle Tsiakaros, poem by Kim Noriega) side-by-side, we believe each visual poem draws out thematic elements in the other that offers a visually rich exploration of what the experience of love, or its lack, can look and feel like in different phases of life. If "Éire" depicts young love lusting after something different, "Naming the Roses" depicts a reflection on a life of different types of love -- we look forward to hearing about the connections you see between them!
